Home and Welcome Pages

Your home page is the centerpiece of your website, so it needs to be beautiful, clear, mobile-friendly, and inviting. You’ll find all of that in this fully-customizable church website home page. By default, you’ll start with a banner that immediately invites guests to go to a page just for them. Other guest-centric information is front and center. You may feature any number of ministries that will link to internal pages. Rounding out the home page are sections for your news, sermons and upcoming events. Those are sections that will appeal to both guests and church members. Visitors to your site will have a page created just for them, too! Customize this page with information such as a purpose statement or statement of welcome, along with any essential information you want your potential first-time guests who are checking you out to know before they visit. Many different icons are included, or you can use your own.

Leadership & Beliefs Pages

Whether your church has just a few staff or many, the Leadership page will help visitors to feel comfortable with your team before they come.

Each person’s photo, name, title, and contact information are included. If your leaders would like to add links to their own social pages, that’s available as well. If you make the images clickable, visitors can visit separate pages to read more about each person. Plus, we haven’t forgotten about your other key ministry leaders, who also get a section of their own!

The beliefs page gives you a place to give brief statements about how your church thinks about baptism, Jesus, the Bible, and much more. The custom icons for each section (and there are others!) are exclusively available from Aboundant.

Ministries: Overview & General Pages

Your ministries are the lifeblood of your congregation and are what many guests want to know about most. The Ministries page features six of your most important ministries by default, though you can increase or decrease the number in Divi. A text section at the top gives you a place to give a general description about your ministries, while the images and clean descriptions invite guests to check out your individual pages.

Sermons & News Pages

The Sermons page features your current audio podcasts or videos of your recorded services. The sidebar is designed to engaged your visitors further by giving them a quick look at some of your upcoming events. A final section links to additional recent or featured sermons

The News page offers a clean and simple layout that displays your most recent blog posts, along with upcoming events and links to sermons.

Although every one of these pages are ready to use immediately, you always have the option to edit each section. If you want to display three sermons instead of two, turn off comments, change “Sermons” to “Services,” or edit anything else, you can easily do so. 

Events & Contact Pages

The Events page will display the calendar you have created in our calendar module, Events Calendar Pro. Alternatively, you can embed a Google Calendar on the page if you prefer to use it.

The Contact page makes it easy for your visitors to fine whatever information they need, whether it’s a map, a phone number, an address, or a form to use to send a general email to the church.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements?

To use Denominations: UMC, you’ll need:

  • a hosted WordPress website
  • the latest version of Divi
  • your own copy, photos (for any you wish to change), and logo (if you don’t use the official UMC logo)
Is this a lifetime or annual fee?
You are purchasing a single site license and will receive updates and support for one year. You may continue to use the theme after that, but you would need to renew the license to continue to get updates and support.
Will there be a version for my denomination? I'm not United Methodist.
We’re currently working on three additional versions: Denominations: ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), Denominations: UCC (United Church of Christ), and Denominations: PCUSA (Presbyterian Church USA). These will launch in 2019. If you have another denomination you’d really like us to add, please get in touch.
Can I switch my theme to this if I am an existing Aboundant client?
Yes, and no. We’re working on making Denominations: UMC one of the standard themes that would be available to you, but it’s not currently possible to install it and switch to it. However, if you’re super anxious to switch, please let us know. There are some possibilities, so let’s chat.
