Ever noticed that the hardest part of many tasks is just figuring out how to get started? We know that many smaller and mid-sized churches feel that way about building a church website – especially if they’ve never created one before.
That’s why our startup process is amazingly easy. We call it LaunchPad, and it’s the quickest way to flesh out a new website. It’s literally as easy as filling out a form! Here’s what happens…
- Sign up for a 30-day trial, using your email address.
- Create your own username. Tip: consider using something church-related, but not your church initials, to make your account more secure. For example, if your church is Faith United Methodist Church in Madison, try something like FaithUMCBoone.
- Follow the prompts as you go. Tip: If you’re not sure how to answer something, you can hover over the question mark to learn more about a particular field. Also, feel free to just insert some dummy text (such as a paragraph of lorem ipsum) if you don’t have just the right text written yet.
- Choose your most important ministries. We suggest being sure to choose at least three, probably three that would most appeal to newcomers.
- Strive for completion, not perfection. Remember that everything is changeable later.
- Once you’re done, you’ll have the basic structure of a new site in place! Of course, since our theme is infinitely customizable, there are many ways you can change and grow your site as you learn about its features. But after completing LaunchPad, your new site will have enough of the essentials in place that you could literally “go live” almost immediately. (Doing so requires a simple support request, followed by a few settings changes on your end that we’ll help you figure out.)
That old advice to think big but start small is on track. Don’t wait: Get your church website essentials together, launch your site, and then keep on growing toward your bigger goals!
